Arrival Protocol

  • Gather in the lobby area until the designated time for the visit

    • Introduce yourself to volunteers you don’t know

    • Help each other with costumes, etc.

  • Masks are required for heroes and agents who show their faces.

Social Media Notes

  • Photos and videos of individual agents and heroes

  • Group photos and videos of agents and heroes together and separate

  • Photos and videos of the carts when they’re full and if/when they get emptied

  • If nurses and doctors want photos for them, ask if they’re ok with us having our own as well

  • Ask child life specialist if it’s ok for you to take photos with patients before officially starting the visit. Or alternatively, you can simply ask: “Can you point out 3-4 kids with photo consents?”

  • When heroes are with patients, read the room, gauge if asking for a photo is appropriate. If you think parents and patient would be comfortable with it, ask for photos, assuming you were given permission from the child life specialist.

  • Portrait is preferred but landscape is still very much useful! A note though for landscape, try to center everything so it can be cropped without excluding anyone for portrait ratio settings that social media requires.

  • Try to take photos with the subjects being the center or above center. Try to avoid having subjects below the center of the photos.

  • Bonus content is extremely helpful! Some suggestions:

    • Heroes walking into the hospital with the carts.

    • Heroes being silly in character and interacting with each other.

    • Heroes walking in the hallways and out of the rooms when they’re done talking to a patient.

    • Everyone hanging out in the elevator

    • Whoever grabs the carts - film grabbing stuff from the warehouse. Do not film too much of the warehouse itself if you choose to do this.

  • Film the agents digging through the carts and grabbing comics and toys.

  • The more content, the better! Whatever you can think of and add is appreciated!
